The Project
Pacy and Wheatley Eductional Construction project works consisted of the construction of a new sixth form block principally built of traditional cavity-wall construction, steel frame, Architectural Curtain walling, profile steel roof, pre-cast concrete suspended floors, fittings and fixtures and associated services and installations together with external works, drainage and services.

Also included in the build was a full commercial catering facility.

The Challenge
• Working within the grounds of a fully occupied and busy High School.
• Sensitive routing and distribution of mechanical and electrical services from the main school block to the new facility.
• Working to a tight construction program to ensure delivery of the project to achieve opening for the new school term and pupil intake.
• Construction of feature concrete spiral staircases.

The Solution
• Careful selection of sub contractors to ensure the highest standards were achieved.
• Excellent site management and coordination of trades.
• Close liasion with the clients design team ensured that hidden problems were quickly overcome with solutions.
• Use of innovative products to overcome on site design challenges.

Key Achievements
• Project completed within tight 35 week program.
• highest standards achieved.
• 97% waste removed from site was recovered for recycling.
• Health & safety: zero reportable accidents on site.
• Achieving the clients budget.
