Applicant must be able to work on contracts nationwide. 

Must also be a time served tradesman, ideally in joinery, CSCS card holder, SSSTS would also be an advantage.

Multi Trade Operative

We are looking for Multi Trade Operatives/Teams required for roll-our works nationwide. 

Applicants must have a CSCS Card, Asbestos awareness at a minimum. 

Proficient in decorating, joinery, dry-lining, tape and jointing. 

There will be ongoing work for the right teams.

Taking part in the Dragon Boat Race Doncaster and beating our target of raising £500 for Bluebell Wood Hospice!

A P&W team lead by the MD Anthony Wheatley took part in the Doncaster Dragonboat Race 15^th July to raise money for the very worthy Bluebell Wood Hospice.

 

The team and supporters on the day comprised of P&W employees, family members and friends.

 

It was a dismal start to the day (weather wise) but the team embraced the challenge and achieved their objectives:

NOT GET WET (for the most part anyway)

 

The team worked hard and the results were better than anticipated

 

Race 1 - 2^nd 76.31 seconds

Race 2 - 2^nd 67.71 seconds

Race 3 - 2^nd 70.25 seconds

 

Overall we came 12^th out of 28 teams (just missing out on a place in the semi-finals)  (1^st place time 67.46 seconds)  even the sun came out later on in the day.

 

We consider this to be a fantastic achievement for our first time taking part in this event.

 

We have already booked our place in the event next year, our target shall be to make the semi-finals.

 

Most importantly we smashed our target of raising £500 for Bluebell Wood (achieved £761.50 + gift)

Project Description

Pacy and Wheatley Construction are delighted to be appointed, by our repeat client Cygnet Healthcare, an exciting design and build project within the healthcare sector in London. The programme was developed in conjunction with our client’s team to ensure minimal disruption, and with consideration to our clients business plan to provide 18 additional beds, day spaces, specialist care and staff areas.

The works consist of various extensions to match the existing building facades and a series of phased refurbishments across multiple areas of the hospital. Refurbished areas have been taken back to a masonry shell and the works will include a complete overhaul of the mechanical and engineering installations. New robust specialist doors and furniture, along with bespoke anti-ligature window systems are also to be installed.

The Challenge

Site constraints and location offer up a number of difficulties, due to the tight access, limited parking and construction activities required to facilitate the works. The hospital is to remain live throughout the build programme with access for all staff, visitors and medical professionals.

Careful consideration has been taken to design detailing, and co-ordination with the planning authority is key to the success of integrating the new extensions with the existing hospital.

Student Visits to Our Sites.

In an effort to engage with the local communities where we are currently working, P&W have arranged for students from the local colleges to visit our sites

The site visits include a presentation to the students and a site tour lead by our site team.

Cygnet Hospital, Harrow 

P&W invited Harrow College, 2 visits were planned, the 1^st took place on Wednesday 1^st  March and was a great success, the 2^nd visit is planned for Wedesday 8^th March for a different group of students

Longhill Road, Huddersfield 

P&W invited Kirklees College, 2 visits were planned, the 1^st took place on Thursday 2^nd  March and was also a great success, the 2^nd visit is planned for Thursday 9^th March for a different group of students.

Hillcrest Court, Amersham

P&W invited Amersham and Wycombe College, 2 visits are planned, the 1^st will take place on Tuesday 14^th March, the 2^nd visit is planned for Tuesday 21^st March for a different group of students.

Employability Week

P&W also attended the Kirklees College Employability week at the college on Friday 10^th March.  Team members shall discuss with students their roles & responsibilities within P&W, they shall also discuss the Longhill Road, Huddersfield site giving students an insight into the construction industry generally and P&W as a construction company.

Project Description

Pacy and Wheatley are delighted to have been appointed by our new client Norstar Ltd, to complete a Residential Refurbishment on a relatively new office block into a 24 luxury apartments in York. The site access is shared with a working office off a busy city centre route. The structure is around 10 years old and of a steel framed design with large open plan areas. Work is required to remove all internal elements including all services, internal walls and suspended ceiling system. Due to the increase of properties within the building we need to increase incoming supplies meaning a new electrical substation needs to be built along, a new larger water supply and structural alterations to make the building suitable for 24 new apartments.

The Challenge

Completing the complicated design process in a very short time frame. Ensuring that works in and around the nearby office building are undertaken with no negative impact or disruption to the staff by consultation with the office manager about planned work and good forward planning of large deliveries. Co-ordination of all new incoming services and statutory connections and disconnections is critical to achieving the required handover dates for completion.

The Solution

In order to ensure minimal disruption to the offices and units on the shared estate, our site managements team held regular meetings with the office management. Through close communication and planned deliveries we were able to prevent any disruption to the businesses. During new service installations that involved trenching significant sections of the shared access road, we were able to design the trench to allow access to the existing businesses using road plates at the site entrance and moving the services and shot gun installing the ducts.

Key Achievements

The end product in a prime location at the centre of York was a huge success and sold extremely quickly prior to project handover. Through regular design meetings and discussions with both our client and the vendor, we ensured that the finishes and products selected led to very sellable, quality apartments.

Project Description

Pacy and Wheatley are pleased to be appointed for a design and build project, a new quality home for Huddersfield to provide specialist residential care. The project consists of the construction of a new 8 bed timber frame/stone faced care home on the site of a former Methodist church. Facilities are to include a sensory activity room, all en-suite rooms, an assisted bathroom, on site staff accommodation and laundry / kitchen installations. External works including new gas, water and electric services, a new car park and sewer connections are being successfully co-ordinated to ensure minimal disruption to the residents on the street. The end product is sure to be an attractive, well finished and beautifully landscaped building.

The Challenge

The site is on a busy residential road and in close proximity to a busy supermarket. Consideration has to be given to civil works by close liaison with the highways authority and council. Significant site remodelling and shaping has been undertaken to allow the foundation & slab installation.

Project Description

Pacy and Wheatley Construction were commissioned on a design and build basis to construct and fit out a timber framed project based on Moorfield Avenue within the historic town of Bolsover, Derbyshire. The facility was 2 storeys and was to have 11 bedrooms with lounges and dining and activity rooms for a high level of care and comfort for its residents. The property had a large rear garden which was to be landscaped to ensure the residents has spacious areas to relax in the beautiful surroundings; the project was to be completed within 24 weeks for the client.

The Challenge

Design co-ordination to ensure the 24-week program was achievable through the design teams finding, we decided that the ground was currently not suitable and require vibropiling which was the chosen method to stabilise this with no effect to adjacent shop and neighbouring properties in close proximity.

The H&S actions required assessment to ensure the public using the pathways to the local school and shop and the neighbourhood residents were as un affect as possible by the works.

Due to the timber framed structure and the low-level area these had to be programmed very carefully as the building could not become water tight until the main roof was complete and scaffold was removed, this could easily cause difficulty with water damage within he timber frame elements of the build.

Long lead time items and services needed constant liaison to ensure the 24 weeks allocated time.

To program the fast track timber frame construction scheme together with sub-contractors to achieve the goal.

Achieve zero incidents throughout the build of the facility whilst works were carried out.

Pulling together the best supply chain to ensure total teak work.

Maintain and build on repeat business client to maintain this to the next project.

Conform to CSCI standards.

The Solution

The design team assembled at an early time with contract programmes schedules meeting through this period to ensure the design was buildable and suitable for the client’s needs/requirements.

Vibration monitoring  was utilise to all sides of the property to ensure the shops and other building were not affected

Liaison with neighbours prior to commencement was paramount to ensure continual awareness of the sites presence and task ahead.

The roof was placed which allowed the scaffold to penetrate the low level roof and allowed access to the main roof and gable wall, this was felted and passed under the scaffold upon the main roof completion, this was removed and the roof completed to ensure internal trades could continue.

Health and safety paramount site compound secured with security fencing to ensure no entry to unauthorised persons.

Co-ordinated throughout by ourselves to ensure passing of lengthy lead time information and processing of order within the early design schedule.

In house staff utilised for the project that have a good knowledge of the company and procedures required.

Ensure as much of the underground works were complete to gain time at the rear of the program to ensure a quality project delivery.

Ensure the timer frame design was erected and closed in to any elements as soon as possible to ensure works could continue internally.

The facility opened upon time as we achieved routed into the building which was complete.

Team meetings with supply chain to discuss any areas of slight failings and areas improvement could be made.

Due to the teams, standard snagging routine we handed over the project with effects.

Completion of a large project on time and to budget with minimal disruption to public and neighbouring properties owners

Revitalised a waste land position into a fantastic looking facility which benefits all the neighbourhood.

Description

Pacy and Wheatley, premier  retail construction company based Doncaster, Yorkshire, were delighted to have successfully completed the steam & Moorlands Garden Centre, in Pickering, North Yorkshire.

To construct an infill building linking the 2 existing building of machinery centre and garden centre / café, which formed the current garden centre complex.

The construction was steelframe structure, with traditional masonary façade, cladding and feature curtain walling the North and South elevations.

The ground floor links the machinery sales area and garden centre, with the 1^st floor becoming a fantastic restaurant setting.

The Challenges

To produce a first class product for a valued client and to complete the project on time and to budget.

Working in and around the live garden centre, which continued trading for business throughout the build.

Limited access to the south elevation of the build.

To achieve an air permeability pass of 7.5 as the building is linked to 2 older -framed units, which has not been built under current regulations or to air permeability standards.

To open the ground floor sales area for business prior to completion of the 1^st floor to hit early spring sales.
